Doncaster Beer Festival 2017

Thursday 11 May to Saturday 13 May 2017

Unity House, Carr Lane, Hyde Park, Doncaster, DN4 5AA

Thursday 5pm - 11pm

Friday 11am to 11pm

Saturday 11am to 11pm

What beers will be available?

52 cask ales.  We're in a much smaller venue than before, but as ever, Lee the beer orderer has been scouring brewery websites, visiting countless pubs and ringing lots of people to bring a tip top selection!

Will there be any other drinks?

Yes - cider, perry, soft drinks as well as bottled beers from Belgium, USA and many other countries.

Can I get something to eat?

Yes - a selection of pies, pasties, pulled pork rolls and other goodies from Yorkshire Pie House.

Will there be any entertainment?

Not this year - you'll have to entertain each other, chat and socialise or play on your phone.

A very big thank you to all our festival sponsors.  A full list is here.

Why aren't you in a bigger venue?

Our contract with Doncaster College came to an end.  We've been looking for a suitable venue and are working hard with our friends at Unity House to bring you another fantastic festival.

How do I get to Unity House?

You can walk, catch a taxi or the bus.  The nearest bus stop is on Trafford Way - it's the first stop from the bus station but only a 2 or 3 minute walk from there.  To the festival, you can catch service 56 and service 55 and 58 back into town.  In addition, First South Yorkshire have kindly agreed that the X4 service will call additionally at this stop - this won't be shown in any online journey planners though.

Three Legs Beer Festival

In the words of Corporal Jones of Dad’s Army fame “Don’t panic! Don’t panic! Don’t Panic!” - there will be a beer festival in Doncaster at Easter.

Over the weekend of 25 to 28 March  (Good Friday to Easter Monday) a beer festival with a difference will be held. Spread over four days and using three different venues in Doncaster town centre, it's almost a 'Beermuda Triangle', as up to 40 beers will be available along with a wide range of traditional ciders and European bottled beers. So members who were getting withdrawal symptoms at the thought of no festival in Donny at Easter can relax.

Are your (beer) appetites whetted? If so then please come along to the Three Legs Beer Festival and enjoy a fantastic selection of ales at the Doncaster Brewery & Tap, Young Street, the Corner Pin, St Sepulchre Gate West, and the White Swan, Frenchgate – open from 12 noon until 10pm each day. As an added bonus, CAMRA discount will be available on selected beers at the Tap and the Pin, with food available at all three venues.

CAMRA socials have been put together to help support this event on Saturday 26 March.

Afternoon social: meet at the Doncaster Tap at 2pm, moving on to the Corner Pin at 4pm and then to the White Swan at 6pm.

Evening social: meet at the White Swan at 7pm, moving on to the Doncaster Tap at 8pm and then to the Corner Pin at 9.30pm

This will give members the chance to come along during the day or in the evening, or to come and go as they wish.

Look forward to seeing you there.

AGM 2015 Report

Doncaster and District CAMRA held our Annual General Meeting at the Salutation on Friday 6 November. The meeting was opened by branch chairman Bob Kiddle at 7:30 and featured reports from Bob and various committee members who covered a range of subjects including  branch finances, the Donny Drinker magazine and our current membership figures . The well attended meeting was also treated to some informative  reports on local breweries from their respective Brewery Liaison Officers.
All the committee were re-elected to their respective positions with Trevor Jones now being officially designated as branch co-ordinator for NBSS (CAMRA’s National Beer Scoring System ). Lynn Atack and Sue O’Brien were elected a branch auditors.
Members were informed that we raised more than £2,100 for Firefly, our adopted charity for 2015. Three charities were nominated for adoption by the branch for 2016. After presentations by members proposing each charity, a vote was taken and Liver Cancer, a subsidiary of Cancer UK , was selected as our official charity for next year.
